Woman crushed under city corporation garbage truck in Dhaka’s Jatrabari

A woman was killed after being run over by a city corporation garbage truck in Dhaka’s Jatrabari area early Saturday.

The deceased was Nazma Begum, 46.

Md Bacchu Miah, inspector of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) police outpost, confirmed the matter.

The victim’s son Abdul Momin said his mother arrived in Dhaka from Bhola for treatment in the morning. She was going to a relative’s home in Shonir Akhra on an autorickshaw. At one stage, she fell down from the vehicle as it was hit by a manhole cover in front of Bhanga Press Lal Mosque.

Then the garbage truck ran over her, leaving her dead on the spot.

The body was sent to the DMCH morgue for autopsy.
