Jul 01, 2023Toyota ramps up options, colour selections on Tundra for 2024
This half-ton pickup truck now starts at $51,450 in Canada, and comes with features like extendable towing mirrors
The crew at Toyota seem to be making sure the Tundra isn’t spared any attention for 2024, even though its smaller Tacoma is receiving most of the internet ink, since it is new for this model year. On tap for big bro are paint choices and some tools intended to make “real truck work” a bit easier.
Starting with the latter, power extendable towing mirrors are on the docket for 2024, showing up as an option on several trims, including volume trims like the TRD Off-Road. Naturally, they also may be fitted to snazzy models like the Platinum and Capstone. This addition should greatly improve one’s driving experience in a new Tundra whilst hauling a trailer. Toss in an integrated electric trailer brake controller plus a stout drawbar and you should be good to go.

A surly Nightshade trim has been popping up on numerous Toyota models, and is extended to the Tundra in 2024. Specifically, the Limited trim (which is “limited” to exactly the number Toyota is able to produce, by the way) gets this optional treatment, packing a black grille with body-colour surround, along with a black rear bumper, wheels, moulding, door handles — you get the idea. Toyota isn’t forcing the issue with cab style, making Limited Nightshade available on Double Cab or CrewMax models.
MSRP
Speaking of body configurations which are less-than-common, weirdos can order a Double Cab long-bed in two-wheel-drive guise, ensuring themselves a lifetime of never being able to sell their truck to anyone else. For those not in the know, this is an extended cab (not crew cab) model with an 8.1-foot bed, resulting in ungainly proportions like that of a teenager whose legs have grown way faster than their body. It is truly jarring to behold. Misbehaving dealer principals may also be punished by their allocation managers with a 4×4 variant of this truck.
Prices for 2024 start at $51,450 for a Double Cab regular-length bed truck equipped with two-wheel-drive and the base engine in SR trim. The least expensive CrewMax is $56,750 in SR trim with a regular-length bed and four-wheel-drive. Note that TRD Off-Road and TRD Sport models are just $210 adrift from each other ($62,760 versus $62,550) suggesting Toyota is taking a similar tack to these trims as it is in the 4Runner line. The menu tops out with a loaded Capstone CrewMax at $91,010.
The 2024 Toyota Tundra is now on sale at Toyota dealers across the country.
