Jeffersonville, VT – The wait is over for the first big rig of 2023 to become stuck in Smugglers Notch.
Vermont State Police got the call just before 9 p.m. Monday. Troopers say the driver of a tractor-trailer ignored several posted warnings that prohibit trucks from attempting the route.
Police said multiple bystanders tried to stop the driver, to no avail. They told officers the driver said he was just following his GPS.
The road was closed for several hours. The driver was cited and fined $3,500 fine.
